Falling from the sky, the Soyuz space capsule held three astronauts returning to Earth after their 5-month stint on the International Space Station. Among the three was Canadian astronaut Col. Chris Hadfield. Suddenly widely popular, Hadfield had used his Facebook feed (managed by his son Evan) to showcase some pretty spectacular photos of Earth over the course of the mission. Not only that, but recently Hadfield shot a video of himself doing a cover of David Bowie’s “Space Oddity”, which of course instantly went viral. Truly amazed at what new technologies can provide, Hadfield just wanted to expose more people to the wonder and amazement of space … Well, Colonel, seeing that you’ve probably made the first music video in space, I think it’s working!

Talk about a comeback huh? The Boston Bruins were sure looking shabby in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup race, and fans were starting to feel pretty glum after a lackluster game, when all of a sudden out of nowhere the Bruins came back to tie and then win in overtime 5-4. Oh Toronto, poor guys.

Get ready for lavish Mediterranean scenes, extravagant yachts, and French charm. It’s time for the Cannes Film Festival. One of the most prestigious film festivals in the world, Cannes brings in big film stars, aspiring directors, and really just some old time movie glamour. With names such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Michael Douglas, Emma Watson, and Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan, this year will be nothing short of star-studded (and bring on the paparazzi hoards!). Even big time director Steven Spielberg is this year’s jury president, so you know, there’s that…

Seeking a new trial, O.J. Simpson wants a do-over on his former convictions of robbery and kidnapping in 2008. Apparently his lawyers didn’t do a good enough job last time, sending the former NFL star to prison for up to 33 years.

The last 40-ton piece of the new World Trade Center in New York City, was hoisted to the top of the already gargantuan building last week, and now is supposedly the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere. (No joke, this building is truly acrophobia inducing…)
